XD430 label printer

The XD430 is a desktop label printer using thermal transfer technology, intended for warehousing, logistics, manufacturing and retail. It handles ribbons up to 300 metres long, which cuts down how often consumables need changing during continuous operation. The mechanism has been designed with easy maintenance in mind.

Print performance

The printer comes in two resolution versions: 203 dpi and 300 dpi. The 203 dpi version prints at up to 152.4 mm/s with a print width of up to 108 mm, while the 300 dpi variant reaches 127 mm/s with a print width of 106 mm. The maximum length of a single printout is 2286 mm.

Data processing is handled by a 32-bit RISC 1.1 GHz processor backed by 64 MB of SDRAM and 128 MB of Flash memory. This configuration allows fonts, graphics and label templates to be stored on the device itself.

Supported media

The XD430 handles continuous, die-cut, black mark, fan-fold and notched labels, outside wound. Media width falls within 20 mm ‐ 118 mm, thickness 60 μm ‐ 200 μm, and the maximum roll outer diameter is 127 mm (5 inches). The printer works with cores of 12.7 mm, 25.4 mm and 38 mm in diameter.

The ribbons used are wax, wax/resin and resin, 40 mm ‐ 110 mm wide and up to 300 metres long, on a 0.5 or 1 inch core.

Sensors and operational control

The device comes with a set of sensors detecting out-of-paper, the gap between labels, ribbon presence, black mark and cover opening. A two-colour status light indicates whether the device is ready and flags unusual situations, while the Feed and Calibration buttons handle media feeding and sensor calibration.

Connectivity and software

USB and Ethernet interfaces come as standard. The printer can optionally be fitted with a Bluetooth 5.0/BLE or Wi-Fi module. The XD430 supports ZPL II, TSPL, DPL and EPL emulation, so it can replace devices from other manufacturers without rebuilding an existing integration.

The printer ships with a free Seagull driver for Windows, BarTender Ultralite label design software and drivers. Supported systems are Windows 7, 8, 10 and Server 2012/2016/2018. Smart Printing Mode (TSPL) is also available.

Barcodes

The range of supported codes covers 1D symbologies: Code 39, Code 93, Code 128UCC, Code 128 subset A/B/C, Codabar, Interleave 2 of 5, EAN-8, EAN-13, EAN-128, UPC-A, UPC-E, 2 and 5-digit add-ons, MSI, PLESSEY, POSTNET, RSS-Stacked, GS1 DataBar and Code 11, as well as 2D codes: PDF417, Maxicode, DataMatrix, QR Code and Aztec.

Physical parameters and accessories

The device measures 282 × 205 × 168 mm and weighs 2.32 kg without media. Power is supplied by an adapter with an AC 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz input and a DC 24 V / 2 A output. The operating temperature range is 5°C to 40°C at 30% to 80% humidity, and storage ‐20°C to 50°C at 10% to 90% humidity.

Optional accessories available include a peeler module, guillotine cutter, rotary cutter and an external label roll holder. The printer carries CCC, CE and CB certification.
