Seiko SLP850 thermal label printer

The Seiko SLP850 label printer series comprises compact, efficient and energy-saving devices designed as the successor to the popular SLP650. A reduced height and depth mean the printers take up minimal desk space while still delivering high print quality and support for modern linerless labels, which allow labels of any length to be printed without backing paper.

Models

The SLP850 series comes in three connectivity variants, matched to different working environments:

• SLP850-UK0C11-15 (USB) – a USB 2.0 model, well suited to standard office workstations, laboratories and service desks where a stable wired connection to a computer is what matters.
• SLP850-SK0C11-25 (Serial + USB) – a variant with an additional serial port, intended for integration with legacy systems, industrial equipment and specialist terminals that still rely on RS-232 communication.
• SLP850-BK0C11-05 (Bluetooth + USB) – a model with Bluetooth 5.3 and USB, built for mobile applications and environments where cable-free operation and printing from iOS and Android devices are important.

All SLP850 models are built on the same proven hardware platform and offer identical print parameters. They differ only in how they communicate, making it easy to pick the right version for the requirements of a given installation.

Connectivity differences

The choice of a particular SLP850 model comes down primarily to how the printer will be connected to the system:

• SLP850-UK0C11-15 (USB)
  Equipped with USB 2.0 (Bulk transfer mode), intended for standard computer workstations. The simplest setup and the most stable connection – ideal wherever the device stays in one place and requires no integration with serial or mobile equipment.
• SLP850-SK0C11-25 (Serial + USB)
  In addition to USB, this model has an RS-232 port supporting speeds of up to 115,200 bps with flow control (Hardware, Xon/Xoff). It is aimed at industrial environments, laboratories and POS systems that use RS-232-based drivers or terminals and need the new device to work seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
• SLP850-BK0C11-05 (Bluetooth + USB)
  A model with a Bluetooth 5.3 module (class 2, SPP and iAP2 profiles) and a USB connector. It supports wireless communication with mobile devices, tablets and terminals, making it a strong fit for logistics, warehousing, mobile retail and order collection points where cables would restrict freedom of movement.
