Cino SE5850 Scanner

Cino SE5850 is a miniature OEM 1D/2D scan engine with an integrated decoder, designed for installation in devices with severely limited mounting space. Minimalist construction and low weight (3 g). FuzzyScan technology, based on AI and deep learning algorithms, handles the reading of soiled, wrinkled and damaged codes as well as those displayed on screens, paper, plastic, metal and curved surfaces.

Key features:

• Drop-in-replacement design: The external dimensions and mounting hole spacing match popular scan engines available on the market, which makes it possible to replace an existing module without redesigning the housing.
• Integrated decoder: Decoding takes place inside the module, without an external decoder board and without a host software licence, which lowers project costs and shortens the time to market.
• Megapixel global shutter sensor: The 1280 x 800 px sensor provides high motion tolerance and repeatable first-time reading.
• FuzzyScan technology: Cino’s proprietary imaging algorithms increase reading performance on problematic and low-contrast codes.
• Choice of interface and aimer: Versions with a USB or TTL Serial (UART) interface, with a green dot LED aimer or a red box-with-cross laser aimer.
• Wide temperature range: Operation from -30°C to 60°C and shock resistance allow use in automation, healthcare and industrial environments.

Available model versions:

The SE5850 module comes in several optical variants, selected according to code size and reading distance.

• Ultra-Wide-Angle (UW): Field of view of 75.6° x 50.9° and reading of codes moving at speeds of up to 920 cm/s. A variant for entry gates, ticket validators and RVM machines.
• High-Density (HD / HL): Minimum resolution of 2.4 mil for Code 39 and 4.5 mil for DataMatrix and QR, intended for small codes and DPM marking.
• Standard-Range (SR / SL): Reading range for 13 mil UPC/EAN codes reaching 23.3 inches, a universal variant for general purpose applications.

• DataWizard: Advanced formatting of GS1 and UDI data with script support.
• iCode: Configuration of the module with a single scan of a macro barcode.
• Multilingual Edge: Conversion of output data into the desired language.

Applications:

The Cino SE5850 module works well in designs where every millimetre of mounting space counts. It is used in mobile computers, scanning sleds, POS terminals, medical equipment and in vitro diagnostics (IVD), haematology analysers, ticket validators, self-service kiosks, parcel lockers, vending machines and reverse vending machines (RVM), as well as entry gates. The drop-in-replacement design makes it easier to modernise existing devices, while the extensive range of optical variants allows the module to be matched to a specific code type and reading distance.
